IT Support Technician required. My client is globally recognized as a market leader in Finished Vehicle Logistics. They have been established for over 30 years. They are now looking for an experienced IT Support Technician to join the team based in Carlisle. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing end-user support and maintaining IT infrastructure, managing incidents, and investigations of network and EDI communication problems. This role is also required to provide user support for Microsoft Office Applications & Business Applications.
Position Overview
1. Responding to support incidents and requests via phone, email, or face to face
2. Ensure all incidents and requests are managed and updated in the service desk tool
3. Troubleshoot and maintain all aspects of PC hardware, servers, peripherals, and applications
4. Deploy PC Hardware, servers, peripherals and maintain infrastructure records
5. Manage and support the telephone system and smartphones
6. Troubleshoot and resolve network and EDI communication problems
7. Support Business & Desktop Applications
8. Perform daily infrastructure checks
9. Manage Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, and Microsoft Exchange
10. Apply OS and application upgrades, updates, and fixes
11. Maintain internal documentation and knowledgebase articles
12. Patching & managing user access rights and security
Position Requirements
1. At least 3 years in a similar role
2. Good knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
3. Fundamental support knowledge of PC hardware, servers, and peripherals
4. Active Directory and Group Policy Management Experience
5. Desktop Deployment & Microsoft Exchange knowledge
6. Exposure to VMWare vSphere
7. Knowledge of Android and IOS Smartphones / ActiveSync
8. Microsoft Office Applications; Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
9. Understanding of basic networking concepts
10. Good communication & problem-solving skills
