We are looking for an advanced podiatrist to join a team of Podiatrists providing outpatient care and support to inpatients. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver specialist foot care at Barnet Hospital.

The successful candidate is required to demonstrate Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description, and person specification. Post-registration experience in diabetes, vascular disease, and other acute foot conditions is a must. Candidates should be highly motivated, able to cope with and manage clinical emergencies, and positively manage stress in a busy and demanding environment.

Education & professional Qualifications
* BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior to 1992)
* Health Professions Council (HPC) registration
* Certificate in local anaesthesia
* Evidence or portfolio of post-graduate continued development
* Evidence of study or intention to study to master's level qualification
Experience
* Experience of working at a band 6 level or above in an acute hospital setting with a high-risk caseload
* Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
* Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease/pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot and neurovascular tests
* Experience of acute and chronic at-risk wound care management
* Awareness/experience of setting & maintaining clinical standards and clinical audit
* Evidence of contribution to change within the workplace
* Understanding of the role of podiatry within the current evolving health environment
* Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/clinical education
* Actively involved in teaching the multidisciplinary team
* Evidence of presentation of own research/project work
Skills and aptitudes
* Core skills in Podiatry, knowledge of acute foot conditions, and wound management
* Ability to undertake intricate work using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments, e.g., in the management and debridement of poor tissue viability wounds and nail surgery
* Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
* Knowledge and understanding of the NICE Diabetes guidelines and NSF in diabetes
* Positive attitude to change
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work within Trust policies, including clinical governance, data protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety, to meet the differing needs of the patient
