We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our team of Clinical Technologists providing the Nuclear Medicine service for Bradford and the surrounding districts. The post will cover a 9-month period for 37.5 hours per week. It may be possible to condense the working week into 4 days.
The post is suitable for Clinical Technologists or Radiographers who have significant experience within Nuclear Medicine. Applicants should hold a Degree level qualification (or higher) with a sizable Nuclear Medicine or Radiography component. Other qualifications will be considered but must be accompanied by a considerable level of hands-on experience within Nuclear Medicine. Ideally candidates should be on the IPEM Register for Clinical Technologists or HCPC register as a Radiographer.

The key responsibilities of this post include working closely with patients, the administration of radioactive substances, carrying out complex diagnostic medical imaging procedures and the use of specialist computer systems to process data. The department has two state-of-the-art SPECT/CT gamma cameras and in-house radiopharmacy facilities. A broad range of nuclear medicine investigations are carried out in the unit to aid the assessment of a wide spectrum of pathologies affecting all major body organs and functions. Around 5000 patients visit the department each year, including paediatrics.

On a day-to-day basis this will include working closely with patients, the administration of radioactive substances, carrying out complex diagnostic medical imaging procedures and the use of specialist computer systems to process data. The department has two modern gamma cameras and in-house radiopharmacy facilities. A broad range of nuclear medicine investigations are carried out in the unit to aid the assessment of a wide spectrum of pathologies affecting all major body organs and functions. Around 4000 patients visit the department each year, including paediatrics. The workload covers both inpatients and outpatients, from inside and outside the Bradford region. The service must respond to rapid changes in demands, including a swift response for urgent requests.

* Degree level qualification or higher with a specialisation in Nuclear Medicine or a Radiography Degree (with relevant experience). Other qualifications will be considered but must be accompanied by a considerable level of hands-on experience within Nuclear Medicine.
