What you'll be doing day to day:
* Support the Audit Principal in managing statutory audits of corporate and charity/not for profit entities, both on-site and in the office.
* Review completed audit files to ensure they meet the firm's quality requirements.
* Oversee complex work for Partner review, highlight technical or entity-specific issues, and recommend solutions.
* Ensure compliance with the firm's quality management systems.
* Manage ongoing relationships, including communication and delivery of additional services. Lead budgeting and commercial aspects of engagements.
* Provide effective feedback to team members.
* Maintain and improve personal technical knowledge and skills.
* Act as a point of contact with clients and colleagues across different departments to achieve effective outcomes.
* Engage in business development activities and identify opportunities with new and existing clients.
* Liaise with technical Partners in specialist service areas.
* Promote the firm's ESG plan by supporting community-based activities and demonstrating a proactive approach to colleague wellbeing.
* Promote inclusion and diversity by demonstrating respect, fairness, transparency, and equity in all interactions with colleagues, clients, and the wider community.
About you:
* ACA/ ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with relevant experience.
* Post qualified, statutory audit experience gained in a practice environment.
* Experience of group audits and preparing consolidated financial statements and compliance regulation.
* Basic corporate tax knowledge.
* Some knowledge of bespoke audit and accounts software would be an advantage.
* Full, clean driving licence, plus unrestricted access to a car (which must be insured to cover business use and the transport of passengers).
* Experience in using automated audit software and computer-based accounts and tax compilation programmes; plus advanced MS Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
