The role This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Engineering Manager to work within the Raytheon Advanced Products Engineering team in the delivery of complex and high-profile programmes. As a result of new contracts, the modelling team is rapidly growing and therefore we are looking for a highly motivated Project Model Based Engineering Manager to support and steer the team, with a sound background in systems engineering development and delivery, and programme tracking and reporting. This role is focussed on cross functional team and task development and will report into the Raytheon UK Technology team. Main Duties: As a key IPT (Integrated Programme Team) member for engineering for one or more of our projects, your main duties would include - Engineering Leadership for a small, multi located and hybrid (onsite / offsite) team, leading them through a digital transformation that adopts model-based engineering principles and aligns with the engineering structure. Your time will be split between supporting your team as the manager and contributor on Advanced Products status reporting and coordination - Generation / Coordination of the System engineering development plans, execution against Raytheon's standards and gating model, and aligned to the overall Programme's needs from early bid phase through to final delivery - Work package management for the team including backlog and sprint planning, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators for the work to be performed, working collaboratively with the rest of the Integrated Programme Team. - External first point of contact and liaison for key internal and external customer organisations - Close liaison with Design Authority to ensure technical integrity of programmes Risk and Change Management for all engineering deliverables, including effective planning, mitigations and monitoring to reduction of risk or closure - Management and delivery adherence to the programme baseline schedule and budget, using 'earned value' techniques. - Direct and Indirect team management across disciplines, including resource planning, performance goal setting, reward, recognition and timesheets Candidate Requirements: - Extensive experience in systems engineering and guidance of multidiscipline, high performance teams (cross-functional experience highly desirable), with awareness of MBSE and Agile processes. - Demonstratable experience in leading a modelling team. - Full understanding of product development lifecycles, and lifecycle management, including planning and reporting requirements - Good understanding of Engineering budget, ideally utilising Earned Value Techniques - Experience in Team management including day-to-day tasking, talent recruitment and development, performance management, etc. - Experience in utilising work package management systems and reporting, such as Jira, MS Project, etc. - Demonstrated competency for strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management. - Demonstrated competency in relating efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems. - Proven ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team and ability to advise programme teams and stakeholders. - Broad based technical background with experience in systems engineering design and integration. - BSc / BEng. in Engineering, Science, or Aeronautical Engineering. - Eligibility to obtain SC Clearance Desirable: - Experience within UK/US International defence industry or similar adjacent industry - Experience of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and/or Navigation systems - Experience with use of Mathworks toolsets such as MATLAB and Simulink Please note, any offers made for this position will be conditional until contract award, expected in May Should you require any adjustments to support you in the recruitment process please discuss with your recruiter or email the request to recruitmentraytheon.co.uk Competitive Benefits and Work Culture Benefits - Competitive salaries. - 25 days holiday statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days (37hr) - Contributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution) - Company bonus scheme (discretionary). - 6 times salary 'Life Assurance' with pension. - Flexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes, including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work amongst others. - Enhanced sick pay. - Enhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity & shared parental leave. - Car / Car allowance (dependant on grade/ role) - Private Medical Insurance (dependant on grade) Work Culture - 37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements. - Early 1.30pm finish Friday, start your weekend early - Remote, hybrid and site based working opportunities, dependant on your needs and the requirements of the role. - A grownup flexible working culture that is output, not time spent at desk, focussed.
