Are you looking for an exciting role within a specialist school for a permanent placement that will commence in January? This intendant school first opened back in 2009 and achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in 2020. They offer a holistic approach to learning, focusing on the students' social and emotional development; it is incredibly important that you are adaptable to work with the teaching styles of the school.
To be successful with your application, you must have QTS/QTLS/PGCE, which is preferable, but consideration will be given to education professionals with other teaching qualifications. You must have experience teaching English. Additionally, it is essential that you have experience working with young people in an SEN environment and that you are passionate about the social and emotional wellbeing of children.
You will be planning and delivering lessons that are specialized to suit the needs of the school, which include MLD and Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs. There will be many opportunities to work with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver a sequenced curriculum that builds knowledge and skills towards agreed end points. It is essential that you effectively monitor the progress of each pupil, check their understanding systematically and effectively, and implement clearly directed and timely interventions.
This will be a full-time position, working Monday to Friday 8:30 - 3:30, term time only. This is a permanent placement beginning in January; however, if available, there will be an opportunity for you to attend a trial week.
