A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a 12 month fixed-term Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner (A-EMHP).
This role will involve supporting the Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) provision of a high-quality service to students (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
Working alongside Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), Senior Wellbeing Practitioners (SWPs) and Senior Clinicians through direct delivery of evidence-based interventions that support the recovery of young people referred to the service; the post holder will also utilise their skills and knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and child and adolescent mental health practice, alongside their knowledge of whole school approaches to mental health.
The role of Assistant EMHP may provide applicants who are thinking about applying for trainee posts, an insight and experience into the MHST teams and roles.

The Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are part of the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service in Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust and are within the ‘Getting Advice’ and ‘Getting Help’ quadrants of the developing iThrive model currently being implemented across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The iThrive model provides an integrated approach to the delivery of person-centered and needs-led services for children, young people and families.
The three core elements that the MHSTs provide are:
1. Evidence based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues
2. Support designated senior mental health leads in educational settings
3. Provide timely advice to school and college staff
