Pharmacy Assistant
Haywards Heath Hospital | Pharmacy | Permanent contract | Part time
Up to £25,000.00 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience
22.5 hours per week (flexibility is highly desirable)
Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will:
1. Work closely with all other members of the Pharmacy team to provide an excellent level of service to our patients and other departments within the hospital.
2. Manage stock control of all medicines and other items within the Pharmacy Department.
3. Be responsible for the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the Pharmacy using appropriate electronic systems.
4. Receive and check bulk orders of medicines from our wholesalers, dealing with problems that arise in a timely and efficient fashion.
5. Deal with delivery and invoice queries related to the medicines ordered and received.
6. Distribute medicines to wards and departments within the hospital to ensure timely and effective patient treatment.
7. Assist in the dispensing of medicines within our dispensary, to ensure the timely and safe supply of medicines to patients.
8. Represent the Pharmacy team at our staff forum.

Minimum Requirements
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will have:
* Good standard of general education, with proven literacy and numeracy.
* 4 GCSEs including English, Maths, and a Science or equivalent.
* Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser (or GPhC recognised equivalent qualification).
* Previous pharmacy experience.
* Experience of handling goods and stock management.
* IT skills and computer literacy.
* Excellent communication and team-working skills.
* Ability to problem solve.
