We have a very exciting opportunity for full time Early Years Assistants to join our Bright Horizons Colchester Day Nursery and Preschool, ready for its grand opening in 2024.
The nursery will be a stunning 108 place setting in a beautiful purpose built setting which will feature spacious rooms and garden areas, perfect for plenty of outdoor teaching and learning! It has great public transport links, as well as some onsite parking.
We have several other Bright Horizons settings in close proximity, meaning you will be able to join us before the nursery opens if you would like to, and work in another setting until the opening.

What you’ll be doing
1. Working as part of a nursery team looking after babies and children up to the age of 5.
2. Having daily adventures with our children through interactive play, activities, reading and helping them with their curious minds through the learning curriculum.
3. Communicating with parents daily on their child’s activities.
4. Provide a caring and supporting environment where the children feel safe and looked after.
5. Listening to the children’s needs and responding in the right way.
6. Creating play and learning opportunities that support the children’s learning.
7. Support Nursery Nurse colleagues encouraging their development towards key milestones.
8. Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding procedures and policies are followed at all times.
What we’re looking for
1. Previous experience working with children (Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar).
2. Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
3. Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents.
4. Ability to use a variety of techniques to clearly and successfully communicate with both children and adults.
5. Sound understanding of child protection and the safeguarding of children.
