Job Purpose: The primary aim of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Professional Conduct Department and assist members of the public. Additionally, the role involves supporting the handling of complaints, ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the department. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Senior Professional Conduct Officer and the Data Protection Officer with managing data protection and Freedom of Information requests. Support the department in investigating complaints, including handling telephone enquiries from veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses, and the public. Aid Case Managers with all aspects of case handling and administration. Assist Disciplinary Solicitors with case preparation and administration. Liaise with witnesses for Disciplinary cases. Correspond with complainants and veterinary professionals involved in complaints, including notification of reviews. Provide general support to the department, including photocopying, scanning documents, and filing. THE PERSON: Essential Criteria: A clear, concise, logical, and practical approach to issues. Ability to understand complex problems and devise solutions or theories. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in IT, including database management and software such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe. Excellent telephone manner. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Desired Skills & Experience: Training or qualification in business administration or a secretarial capacity. Experience in complaint handling, data protection work, or working for a regulatory authority.
