We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Mens Prison located in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.
Hours
The core working hours are Mon Fri (8:00 - 16:00).
However you will be expected to work one late shift (14:00 - 20:30) & every other sat (12:00 - 18:30s).
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £50,400per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber your role your responsibilities will vary. You will
1. develop individualised care packages through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
2. deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions
3. monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects
4. support in group work delivery of clinical interventions

Qualifications & Experience
12. Registered nurse Mental Health or Adult Nurse
13. Current professional qualification (NMC)
14. Prescribing qualification in SMS
15. RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake
16. Experience of working with opiate dependant patients
17. Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge

Job responsibilities
As a Senior Nurse you will work as part of amulti-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualisedpackages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. Youwill deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocialinterventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre ofour healthcare wellbeing model.
You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments,initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate thefull range of treatment options available to service users. You will monitortherapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise withprescribers.
You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providingadvice and information. You will support in group work delivery and liaise withprescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You willoccasionally be required to support dispensing. You must have an understandingand commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.
You will also encourage patient involvement in regime andtherapeutic activities and create a physical and psychological environmentconducive to high quality care. You willassess individuals health needs using an evidenced based framework and reviewmedication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to the service usersneeds in accordance with evidence based practice, national and PPG protocols.
You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to;
Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seekingout, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalisedand informed by what matters to them.
Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promotingprofessional boundaries. You will play an active part in the assessment,planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following ourpolicies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
