To work 5 days per week, term time plus 3 weeks (i.e. 41 weeks)

Applications are invited for the post of Head of Student Welfare, to lead on social, emotional and mental health support for students within a mainstream secondary school setting. The successful candidate will lead a team of student welfare practitioners and be responsible for Child Protection, Educational Welfare and our Hub. The Hub is a therapy and wellbeing centre that supports students experiencing difficulties to fully access mainstream education. The Hub supports students with any physical injury, or suffering bereavement, or having difficulty managing their behaviours and emotions.
The successful candidate will work directly under the Deputy Head Teacher to compliment the pastoral support team and the SEND team with more vulnerable students and their families.

· Are organised and able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
· Can communicate effectively and build relationships
Candidates must be available to work flexibly. Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8.15 am to 4.00 pm (36.25 hours) – term time only + 3 weeks
A full driving licence and access to a car is desirable.
