An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist post within the Young Onset Dementia Service (YOD). The post will provide a high-quality assessment service to people who may have dementia.
The post will be located within the Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) directorate and based at Kirkby in Ashfield in the Young Onset Dementia Service. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to various locations throughout the county of Nottinghamshire to complete assessments.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work under the supervision of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will work as part of the diagnostic service providing neuropsychological assessments to aid in diagnosis.
The post holder should have the ability to travel across the county of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Job responsibilities
The role will require previous experience of neuropsychological assessment, preferably in a working-age context. The ability to work alongside colleagues from a variety of other disciplines and excellent communication skills are essential.
The post requires an individual with a psychology degree of 2.1 or above and who is eligible for graduate basis for registration from BPS.
