Position Description
Scope of the role:
Applicants should be able to read Engineering drawings, use standard measuring equipment and have both an understanding and appropriate experience of general turning principles, (ideally both manual and CNC).
Main Responsibilities and Activities
1. Setting / Operating CNC machines, (Okuma / Takamaz / Nakamura Tome TW-10) - multi-manning as required
2. Setting / Operating manual centre lathes to perform basic machining operations
3. Ensuring processed parts conform to drawing
4. Ensuring parts are processed in the allowed time
5. Ensuring all documentation is accurate
6. Supporting the area in carrying out alternative tasks as required
7. Supporting other team-members as required
Achieving Production / Arrears / Quality / Efficiency targets as identified by Production Management.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential

6. Diligent
Desirable
1. NVQ in Engineering manufacture or equivalent / Advanced Modern Apprenticeship
2. Previous experience of working in an engineering environment.
3. English Language and Maths to GCSE grade C or above
4. Computer Literate (ideally with a recognised qualification)
5. Experience in the use of standard measurement equipment.
6. Can demonstrate good numeric skills.
Hours of work
Overtime available when required
A Shift: Monday to Thursday 6am to 1:35pm
No Premium Friday 6am to 12:45pm
B Shift: Monday to Thursday 1:25pm to 9:05pm
20% Premium Friday 12:35pm to 7pm
