Salary c £35K per annum - Fully supernumerary
Experts2care are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join an established, professional team in a welcoming elderly care home in the Market Drayton area. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Home Manager in and ensuring the highest standards of care for residents. Your duties will include, day to day running of the home in partnership with the home manager with oversight of the care team. Set 2 week rolling rota pattern to include working alternate weekends.
What's involved:
Ensure your team provide all aspects of care in line with residents’ care plans whilst encouraging them to retain their independence to carry out tasks themselves wherever possible. Review and audit care plans to ensure they meet the needs of the residents.
Lead by example, working alongside your team promoting best practice. Understand your teams’ weaknesses and strengths and promote continual improvement by guiding and developing them.
Work with the Shift Leaders to manage staff deployment within the home, effectively time manage and plan each shift, communicate clearly with your team and manage the staff rota and allocate staff to suit the needs of the home.
Oversee the records your team complete and ensure that you or designated members of your team deliver clear and informative handovers to the incoming team.
Administer, order, and book in medication and assess others in medication administration.
Manage risks and emergency procedures, reporting hazards and ensuring that the wider care team are aware.
Liaise with external agencies regarding care provision, ensuring the care team follow the advice given.
Build relationships with residents, relatives, and advocates to ensure that residents’ needs are known and understood.
What you'll bring:
Previous experience in a supervisory role within a care home or similar setting is essential.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in health and social care is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of dementia care principles and medication administration protocols.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and external agencies.
A caring attitude towards residents with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including occasional on-call duties as required.
