We are looking for the next superstar Manager/Assistant Manager to join our team at GDK Cardiff.
As one of our Managers, you will lead a dedicated team, responsible for our food standards and ensuring that our valued guests receive excellent service while maintaining all required brand standards. You are accountable for achieving set target sales and profit by controlling costs of all restaurant expenses. Preparing the weekly rota will be a breeze for you. Guest service is paramount to us; you will ensure guest satisfaction is upheld to the highest standard. Your team is your responsibility, and you are a people person who enjoys engaging, providing training, and creating a cheerful professional working environment that will keep our team members and guests wanting to return to our restaurant.
Duties will also include:
* Leading Operations Excellence.
* Overseeing and managing all areas of the restaurant.
* Ensuring restaurant wellbeing by analyzing sales and maintaining strong profitability.
* Exceeding company standards in guest service.
* Responding efficiently to guest complaints and resolutions.
* Supervising shifts to ensure smooth operations.
* Training and developing the team through online tutorials and in-store.
* Leading by example.
* Estimating consumption, forecasting requirements, and maintaining stock inventory to ensure product availability and minimize wastage.
* Monitoring compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
* Being the brand ambassador for the restaurant.
* Monitoring all restaurant operations and initiating corrective actions.
* Taking on the duty manager role on a rotation basis.
* Leading financial areas including sales growth, cost management, and profit growth.
* Organizing marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
* Preparing reports at the end of each shift/week, including team control, food control, and sales.
* Creating and executing plans for sales, restaurant profit, and staff development.
* Setting budgets and agreeing them with Ops leads.
* Managing team welfare and providing regular feedback.
* Ensuring all employees adhere to company uniform standards.
* Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
* Checking stock levels and ordering supplies from nominated partners.
* Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required.
* Encouraging teamwork, cooperation, harmony, productivity, and a positive attitude within the working environment.
* Completing all necessary daily reports at the end of each shift.
* Attending any training or meetings as required by German Doner Kebab or the Franchisee.
* Performing any other duties as designated by the Operations Manager due to business demands.
* Working with supervisors to coordinate all aspects of stock deliveries and keeping accurate records.
* Conducting weekly and monthly stock counts.
* Monitoring stock storage areas to ensure they are secure, neat, and clean.
* Maintaining a local authority food safety certificate (e.g., scores on the doors 5 stars) and ensuring compliance with EHO and fire safety officers.
* Having a good working knowledge of all equipment and efficiently taking care of preventative maintenance.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate for the position of Manager should have outstanding interactive and communication skills and possess the enthusiasm to work with colleagues and staff as a team player. In addition to these, the following qualities, skills, knowledge, and abilities are most sought:
* Proven working experience as a Restaurant Manager.
* Demonstrated experience in customer service management.
* Extensive food knowledge.
* Proficiency in English.
* Computer literacy and familiarity with restaurant management software.
