Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Clinical
* Provide medical services for the practice population to a high standard, including day-to-day activities such as surgery consultations, telephone advice, telephone consultations and home visits.
* Comply with the requirements of the practices General Medical Services/Personal Medical Services (GMS/PMS/APMS) contract, Enhanced Services contracts, educational/training delivery contracts and private contracts.
* Adhere to the principles of good medical practice.
* Practise evidence based medicine, in line with national and locally agreed guidelines.
* Conduct patient consultations during the practices clinical appointment hours.
* Undertake duty and out of hours consultations as required, on a rota basis.
* Triage patients presenting to the practice in person and by telephone.
* Conduct telephone consultations and home visits as appropriate.
* Check and sign repeat prescription requests, prescribing reviews.
* Check, manage and process patient test results.
* Prescribe in line with local and national guidelines.
* Refer patients to secondary/urgent care and additional interventions as appropriate.
* Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems.
* Promote healthy living strategies and give health and wellbeing advice, generally encouraging patients to follow a healthy lifestyle.
* Carry out patient testing and screening as required.
* Make autonomous clinical decisions relating to patients' health needs.
* Take ongoing responsibility for patients with difficult and complex problems including consistent follow-through.
* Process all associated workflow from patient consultations including clinical letters, follow-up on results and any follow-up tasks.
* Participate in audit and quality improvement processes.

Practice Details: Location: Little London Surgery, Caldmore, Walsall, WS1 3EP. List size 9700 and expanding. The successful candidate will work with our whole team to deliver the highest quality primary care services. More specifically, the Salaried GP will be responsible for assessing patients, working with our multidisciplinary team undertaking the clinical duties and responsibilities associated with working as a General Practitioner in line with GMC and RCGP standards.
This is an amazing opportunity to join our Team: Located in the South of Walsall we are also a member of South 1 PCN geographically aligned with 8 other GP practices sharing ARRS staff. Working as a GP consultant within a supportive team of Nursing, Clinical pharmacists, ANPs, Social prescriber, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, HCAs and 3 Partners.
Job responsibilities
Position: Salaried GP Job Part/Full Time
Tasks will include reviewing pathology results and documents/admin work although no private reports, home visits, and an opportunity for Partnership.
GMS Practice, consistently CQC Rated GOOD and High QoF outcomes.
Training practice with Opportunities for Training and development.
Protected Learning Time every month.
Strong back office team for IT, data processing and secretarial support.
Close working relationship with DNs, HV, Hospice team and Midwife.
Mentoring support available for newly qualified GPs.
Excellent patient feedback from our last GP Survey.
