The Somerset Dermatology Service is seeking a Band 6 nurse with dynamism and enthusiasm to join this expanding service in a new role focused on patients with Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the team and to gain experience and enhanced knowledge of Skin Cancer management, in secondary care. They will develop key enhanced level skills in an environment supported by experienced nurses and the wider Multidisciplinary Team.

Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence-based, patient-centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality of Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin cancer. As a Skin Cancer Oncology Nurse, you will:
1. Be responsible for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families living with a diagnosis of skin cancer.
2. Support patients and families through their cancer pathway from diagnosis to treatment.
3. Be part of a supportive, professional, and passionate team committed to delivering the best outcomes for skin cancer patients.
4. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including oncology consultants, plastic surgeons, dermatologists, specialist nurses, and allied health professionals.

Essential
* Registered General Nurse with full NMC registration
* BSc (Hons) Nursing or equivalent
Desirable
* Advanced communication skills training
* Recognised Level 6 module in Skin Cancer Nursing or Oncology Nursing
Experience

* Considerable post-registration experience of delivering oncology/palliative care within a cancer setting.
* Teaching/educating of Nurses and patients

* Experience with nurse-led clinics
* Experience of undertaking and applying research, audit to deliver the clinical governance agenda

* Ability to work with multi-professional/cultural organisations, across organisational boundaries
