As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will have a lifelong learning mind-set and demonstrate that you can stretch beyond your comfort zone to protect Adare SEC’s digital assets.
You will work closely with platforms, application, end users and client services teams, and are responsible for optimising security controls and leading security operations to protect Adare SEC information assets, networks and cloud platforms. You will ensure security improvement deliverables meet quality standards. In addition, the role acts as an incident escalation point to the security analysts.
You will devote most hours to tackling tasks beyond your current level of competence and comfort, deliberate practice, observing the results, and making adjustments to protect Adare SEC from cyber threats.
What will you be doing?
* Maintain, optimise and implement technical security tools such as antimalware, vulnerability management, SIEM, MDR, WAF and PAM solutions align with industry best practices and Adare SEC business objectives/security improvement roadmap.
* Maintain security certifications and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities to ensure risks to the information assets are addressed, complying with cyber essentials plus, PCI-DSS and ISO 27001 standards.
* Provide advanced technical expertise to investigate suspicious security events/alerts and lead incident response actions.
* Manage the cyber security incident response plan, including investigating security breaches, identifying the root cause, and implementing corrective actions.
* Participate in developing and delivering security awareness training to employees and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with wider business teams to ensure that security requirements are integrated into systems architecture from the onset.
* Provide security expertise in technology refresh, new product launches, penetration testing, remediation, and compliance audits.
* Report on the organisation's security posture, and clearly communicate security risks and recommendations to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Qualification in Computer Science or Information Security.
* Relevant experience in information security engineering, operations or technology projects.
* Good knowledge of information security principles, standards, and best practices.
* Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability management tools & MDR solution.
* Experience with IT or security major incident response.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, CE+ or CIS Controls.
* Relevant industry certifications from EC-Council or ISC2 are highly desirable.
