An opportunity has arisen with my client's Property team in Leeds for a Paralegal/Chartered Legal Executive to assist an experienced CILEx lawyer with running a caseload of residential property matters with limited supervision. This role would be particularly good for any candidates who are currently working as residential conveyancers and who might be looking for a more commercially focused client base to work alongside. This role will involve working with a wide variety of clients including local authorities, developers and investors. Anyone, therefore, with a strong background in residential conveyancing would be of particular interest to my client as well as any candidates who are already working within this space as a Residential Property Paralegal / Chartered Legal Executive. In terms of specific skills that my candidate would be interested in, candidates should ideally possess some of the following previous experience (the below list is not exhaustive): - Freehold and leasehold transactions advice in addition to new build housing developments;- Dealing with statutory lease extensions and enfranchisement under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 and/or Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993;- A solid understanding of the Building Safety Act and leasehold reforms; and- Awareness of the UK Lenders Handbook and the requirements of mortgage lenders.My client is regularly recognised as a leader in the legal market when it comes to a positive work/life balance and having a collaborative culture.
