In your role as a Midweight Copywriter, you will work across different clients and formats to produce impactful copy that is accurate, effective and always aimed at the right audience. It’s a busy role that will require you to use your writing talent and your initiative to get to the bottom of a brief and consistently deliver the goods. But you won’t always be working alone. As part of the wider Creative Services function, you can expect to work alongside designers, motion graphics colleagues, artworkers, strategists and your fellow writers within the fast-moving B2B tech space. This role will see you build on your existing experience while offering you the opportunity to develop as a writer, contribute to the agency’s success and be an advocate for the power of words and the ability of copy to help businesses meet their objectives.
Overall Objectives
* Write copy as appropriate across different formats and for different clients
* Be an advocate of copywriting within the agency
* Understand the briefing process and help to ensure its effectiveness
* Understand tone of voice and the role it plays in writing for clients
* Offer support as required, notably with cross-checking and proofing work
* Proactively collaborate with other agency teams and departments where necessary
Key Responsibilities
* Write copy across a variety of formats, potentially including social media, email, digital banners, web pages and longer-form copy
* Work closely with wider team(s) to share ideas and ensure consistency across all messaging – adhering to the brief and established brand values.
* Ensure that client style and tone of voice are maintained in written content
* Attend briefings where required
* Attend team meetings and wider Studio calls
* Proof copy, recommending and highlighting any changes
* Respond positively to client feedback, amending and improving where required.
* Undertake research as part of copywriting tasks
* Manage tasks on Radar
Key Skills
* Excellent written English and grammar knowledge
* An ability to understand new ideas quickly and to convey those ideas to others
* Organised and able to multitask on a daily basis
* Motivated, with a willingness to learn and a keen eye for detail
* Ability to work accurately to deadlines
* Capable of applying creative thinking to the writing process
* An interest in technology
* Experience of different copy formats, including writing for the web, video scripts, emails and more
* Strong research, proofing and editing skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
