Groundwork West Midlands is a charity working to transform lives in communities experiencing poverty and disadvantage. We aim to build community capacity and resilience to tackle hardship, reduce inequality, enabling people to lead healthier, happier and more prosperous lives. We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to share their passion and grow their experience of working with families through supporting our projects, Go Play Sandwell and The HuB Programme. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to deliver alongside the team on our exciting projects, engaging with families in Tipton, Oldbury, Rowley and Smethwick. As part of this role you will:
1. Work with families and their children who are aged 0 – 12, (up to 16 with additional needs)
2. Lead in setting up and supervising open access after-school and holiday sessions
3. Deliver activities ranging from arts and crafts, sensory play to gardening
4. Work in different settings, from Family Hubs, libraries to parks
5. Be part of a team that offers support, guidance and a listening ear to our families
6. Build positive relationships with local communities
7. Support creative and interesting opportunities for play
8. Help to build confidence, skills and increase the well-being of children and parents
A full driving licence is essential for the role which entails travel to various venues around Sandwell.
