We are looking to recruit an experienced Site Foreman/Manager with a joinery background who will be based in South Yorkshire. We also have projects nationally, so candidates must be willing to travel. Rates of pay to be discussed.
The ideal candidate
You will be an experienced working Site Foreman/Manager with a joinery background and a hands-on approach to the managing of subcontractors, sites, and be organised with an acute attention to detail.
Experience of fast track interior fit out projects would be beneficial.
Candidates must be willing to use their own tools and support the team when required.
Responsibilities
1. Checking and registering materials and plant deliveries for compliance quality and quantity.
2. Checking and recording attendance and timekeeping of subcontractors and operatives.
3. Liaising with clients and reporting progress, quality, environmental, and health and safety matters.
4. Attending internal and site meetings and maintaining a professional manner.
5. Calling off materials, ordering sundry items, and maintaining running totals records.
6. Supervising subcontract trades and general labour to ensure the highest quality health and safety standards are met.
7. Carrying out formal safety inspections ensuring construction and site safety is of the highest standard.
8. Maintaining quality control procedures.
9. Utilising company systems, procedures, forms, and templates.
10. Motivating your workforce.
11. Assisting the construction manager as and when required.
12. Completion of site H&S, quality, and environmental inspections and related paperwork.
13. Reading, understanding, conveying, and building to approved drawings and specifications.
14. Coordinating delivery and pick up of materials.
15. Ordering and managing hired-in equipment.
16. Record keeping for change control tracking, assessment, and monitoring.
17. Working to agreed programme.
Requirements
1. Extensive experience of the construction industry, specifically Hotel Refurbishment, interior fit out, and joinery.
2. Knowledge of construction techniques, specifications, and details.
3. People management experience.
4. Good communication and teamworking skills.
5. Commercial awareness.
6. Well organised with a thorough attention to detail.
7. Able to work on your own initiative.
8. Be computer literate (MS Office applications).
9. Understand building regulations and HS&E legislation.
10. Must have own joinery tools and be willing to work on site as a joiner in addition to being the site foreman.
Essential qualifications
1. SSSTS as a minimum or SMSTS.
2. CSCS supervisor’s card.
3. First Aid trained.
4. Full UK driving licence.
Desired qualifications
1. Scaffold inspection.
2. IPAF.
3. Asbestos Awareness.
4. PASMA.
5. Fire Marshal.
