New Exciting Permanent Opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Credit Controller to join our client based in Crawley.
Job Description
* You will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for and collecting rents, utilities and other payments
* Ensuring all charges are raised accurately
* Preparation of monthly Direct Debit collection files
* Processing journal adjustments to correct postings as required
* Executing the return of rental deposits to residents at the end of tenancies, making cash transfers and associated accounting postings
* Preparing weekly reconciliations
* ensure all payments received are accurately allocated and completing daily bank reconciliations to confirm completeness and accuracy of recording of cash received
* Preparing regular (daily/weekly) reporting on collection progress and actions being undertaken for any unpaid amounts
* follow up on unpaid charges by email, phone and directly
The Successful Applicant
* We are looking for a highly organised individual who is adaptable to take on and move between a range of tasks and able to prioritise workload over the monthly billing and collection cycle.
* Proficient in Excel and confident using and developing systems to maintain efficient, standardised processes and accurate, timely reporting.
* You are experienced in accounting processes around raising income charges, allocating cash received and preparing bank reconciliations
* You are comfortable speaking to customers, and have previous experience of doing so.
* May be working towards an accountancy degree
* Experience in a similar role
