The Company:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Junior Buyer to join a reputable and established supplier of fashion accessories to high street retailers.
Working as part of the Product Team to deliver great design for some of the best accessories on brief, to a deadline, in a busy and fast-moving design environment. Excellent organisational skills and a creative flair are essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and launching product for a portfolio of our house brands and luxury licensed brands. Essential skills include exceptional design, knowledge and understanding of luxury brands and quality, outstanding organisational and administrative skills, as well as a strong analytical ability.
Responsibilities:
* Overseeing product development
* Managing critical path and delivery schedule for all new product within designated portfolio
* Liaising with suppliers, primarily in the Far East via email
* Working with licensed brands and adhering to strict design guidelines and approval procedures
* Developing product and collections from briefs with buyers from the major chains
* Identifying and interpreting trends
* Responsible for new relevant product administration
* Stock control and monitoring
* Negotiating and monitoring cost prices
* Sourcing and developing new suppliers
* Developing cases and POS material
* Attending major conferences on behalf of the company
* Attending and note-taking at supplier meetings with a view to build and maintain long term business relationships
* Representing the company at major eyewear exhibitions as well as conferences
Qualifications:
* Competent user of the Microsoft Office Suite
* Degree educated with a minimum 2:1 classification
* An eye for exceptional design with a knowledge and understanding of luxury brands and quality
* Proven track record of introducing fresh and innovative ideas
* Able to be highly conceptual while still being able to stick to demanding briefs
* The ability to work well and efficiently under pressure
* Flexibility to travel abroad when required
* The ability to write succinctly
* Organisational skills
* Analytical skills
Preferred Skills:
* Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
* Experience of the design process from concept to completion
* Academic excellence throughout education
* Experience/placement within a buying/purchasing role
