Technician - Fine Art Print An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technician to join a leading organisation based in Belfast. This is a Full-Time, Temporary Position initially for 2-3 months (has the possibility to be extended thereafter). With a salary of £27,181 - £30,504 per annum Job Role: You will be responsible for providing in depth knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of Fine Art in order to support a range of activities with a focus on Fine Art Print. This will also be to ensure the effective provision and availability of specialist equipment and work areas in order to facilitate delivery, learning, research and knowledge exchange activities. Essential Criteria: A degree, foundation degree or NVQ4 OR equivalent in a Fine Art Print making or equivalent recent experience OR hold Industry standard/ recognised awards/training. Experience in the use of industry standard technology and equipment including knowledge of relevant theory, systems, processes, and quality standards for Fine Art Print. Experience of implementing Health and Safety policy and procedures and Risk Assessment procedures. Experience of using industry standard software which may include Adobe CC. Demonstrable experience of managing procurement including producing specification documents and bids, monitoring, and resourcing consumable material stock levels and managing a budget. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical support including the maintenance of an equipment facility in those areas associated with the specialist support of Fine Art Print Making. To prioritise your own work within a general plan or schedule to meet deadlines and appropriate standards so as to ensure the studios are available for use, preparing for and providing technical assistance to timetabled sessions and open access periods. Have an in depth understanding of equipment, techniques, and development workflows in Fine Art Print making. This includes an understanding of industry standards in Fine Art Printmaking including, by not limited to, experience with Adobe CC. Ensure that the department is well maintained, this includes but is not limited to budget and stock management, and responsibility for the care and upkeep of departmental machines. Provide a support service including the first line diagnosis, maintenance and repair of faults in workshop equipment. Provide a point of contact for specialist technical advice including inductions/ demonstration/instruction/training in the use of specialist equipment/techniques. Provide demonstration and instruction in individual, small group or workshop sessions, as most appropriate, making clear the outcomes, processes and limitations that may be involved. Work individually and as part of the team to provide technical support; to communicate and liaise with staff and other key contacts including grade 6 technical coordinators, internal and external project teams, in order to establish requirements to ensure work is coordinated and completed effectively. Assist with projects in scheduled/timetabled sessions and to provide flexible studio or workshop technical support. Assist with the deployment, management and recording of hardware equipment and software and to assist with the management of the equipment inventory, and with the creation and maintenance of records, both manual and computerised, for example assets register, servicing logs, loans and locations.
