Summary of the Role
To operate within a regional structure and in close conjunction with other Regional Fleet Engineer colleagues to manage all aspects of the repair and maintenance of vehicles, trailers and equipment operating across all contracts. The job holder will be the key fleet contract focal point for major contracts within Oxalis Logistics UK and Fuels Transport & Logistics Ltd structures. The role will include the management of all fleet activity within the dedicated Region but may also be assigned to other Regions to support other Regional Fleet Engineer colleagues where necessary.
The prime purpose of this role will be to ensure Safety and legal compliance with all statutory regulations and company standards, to work within agreed KPIs to deliver improved fleet availability and to maximise cost reductions based on initial repair estimates. The job holder will also be required to carry out compliance audits of Third Party workshops within the respective Region in line with an agreed compliance audit schedule.
The job holder will cover the Southern region.
Key duties:
* Adhere to Company Health and Safety Policy and Corporate TQM System (DIS EN ISO 9001/14001) while managing all HSE aspects for vehicles and equipment.
* Understand and ensure compliance with Maintenance, Warranty, Breakdown, and Recovery Policies and Company Service Level Agreements by service providers.
* Provide technical expertise to support the Maintenance Control Centre, validate repair and maintenance activities, and ensure adherence to standard repair times, parts discounts, and dealer labour rates.
* Assist in developing vehicle and trailer specifications for specialised equipment and manage changes related to acquisitions, modifications, and trials in line with MOC procedures.
* Manage supplier/vendor relationships, conduct compliance audits, ensure corrective actions, and maintain relationships with workshops and OEM suppliers to secure optimal services.
* Produce monthly performance reports on fleet operations, assist in incident investigations, and support Incident Controller training, focusing on technical specifications of specialised vehicles and trailers.
Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate a culture of continuous improvement through monitoring of key performance indicators and management information.
* Conduct his/her field-based duties in the most effective & time efficient manner by maximising technology to avoid unnecessary travelling, expenses and accommodation costs.

Requirements:
Essential:
* Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.
* Must live within a 45 minute commutable distance from base location
* Experience working in a fleet management environment.
* Qualifications to include City & Guilds level 1,2,3 or BETEC equivalent.
* Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Standard National & International.
* Member of Professional Institutes (IRTE, IMI, SOE, EI)
* Strong administrative skills.
* Conversant with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Desirable:
* Experience in using a fleet management system Key2
* ADR qualified (Seven classes)
* HGV C+E driving Licence
