As a Trainee Survey Engineer aboard our vessels, you will be a key part of a highly skilled team, assisting with the operation, integration, and maintenance of survey sensors during mobilizations and demobilizations. Working under the guidance of the Party Chief, your role will focus on ensuring efficient and seamless survey operations and data acquisition in line with company and client QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Survey Equipment Integration: Install, interface, test, calibrate, verify, and operate hydrographic, geophysical, and geotechnical survey equipment in accordance with project specifications.
* DIMCON Surveys: Assist with Dimensional Control (DIMCON) surveys to ensure accurate measurement and recording of vessel and ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) offsets.
* Safety and Risk Management: Actively participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments to ensure all surveying activities meet safety standards.
* Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment operates within the manufacturer's specifications throughout the project, with a proactive approach to fault-finding and maintenance.
* Equipment Management: Maintain an up-to-date equipment register, overseeing the receipt, dispatch, and storage of survey equipment.
* Collaboration with Survey Team: Work closely with the survey team to deploy, recover, and ensure that sensors and equipment meet the specific data requirements of each project.
* Troubleshooting and Support: Provide on-the-ground troubleshooting, alert the onshore team about any equipment approaching the end of its calibration period, and provide ongoing technical support.
* Documentation and Reporting: Document and report any faulty or damaged equipment, coordinating with shoreside teams and third-party suppliers for repairs or replacements.
* Procedure Improvement: Contribute to reviewing, updating, and enhancing vessel procedures and documentation for efficiency and best practices.
