Job Title: Quality and Compliance Support Officer
Location: On site (Leicester Office)
Job Purpose:
The Quality and Compliance Support Officer will support our collective nursing homes in ensuring that all services provided comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
The role involves monitoring, auditing, and ensuring that quality assurance protocols are in place to guarantee high standards of care, safety, and regulatory compliance in accordance with healthcare and nursing policies and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
* Assist in ensuring that our homes comply with all relevant legislation, regulatory bodies, and standards, including CQC (Care Quality Commission), Health and Safety regulations, and other local or national requirements.
* Prepare for and support audits by external agencies, ensuring all documentation is in place for inspection.
* Maintain and update a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory changes and guide the team through necessary compliance adjustments.
Quality Monitoring:
* Support the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance programs aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency.
* Conduct regular audits of clinical and care documentation, internal processes, and staff practices to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
* Identify areas for improvement in care delivery, safety, and service provision, and collaborate with relevant teams to implement improvements.
Reporting and Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
* Prepare reports and updates on quality and compliance progress for senior management, highlighting areas of concern and recommendations for improvement.
* Assist with the development and review of policies, procedures, and care plans to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
Incident Management:
* Support the investigation of complaints, incidents, or accidents involving residents and staff, ensuring that they are recorded, reported, and investigated in a timely manner.
* Work with senior management to develop action plans in response to incidents and monitor their implementation to prevent recurrence.
Resident and Family Communication:
* Assist in maintaining effective communication channels with residents, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure their concerns and feedback are addressed in line with quality standards.
* Support the implementation of resident feedback mechanisms, including surveys and meetings, to promote continuous improvement.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* A background in healthcare, preferably within the nursing home or social care sector.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as CQC standards and relevant health and safety legislation.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to audit and assess care quality.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with staff, residents, and external agencies.
* Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* A relevant qualification in healthcare, quality management, or compliance is desirable (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent).
* Experience in a compliance or quality assurance role is highly desirable.
