Our therapists work closely with schools and families to develop strong communication provisions and provide continuous support.
Main duties of the job
In conjunction with the Team Lead and Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will plan, develop, and deliver a Speech and Language Therapy service in family homes, education settings, and local authorities.
Job Responsibilities
* Coordinate the provision of suitable Speech and Language Therapy services in line with client needs.
* Participate in the assessment and diagnosis of children/young people with a range of SLCN.
* Provide high-quality support to students, apprentices, and SLTAs.
* Proactively support the growth and development of Chatterbug by representing the organization at a local/national level.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Assess, diagnose, and provide support to children with a range of SLCN, including complex needs.
* Ensure a client-focused assessment and approach to treatment.
* Represent the service at health and education panels as required.
* Provide assessment and advice on optimizing clients' communicative environments.
* Develop and implement speech and language therapy treatment programs and measure outcomes.
* Demonstrate clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
Communication Responsibilities
* Employ excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Communicate assessment and treatment information effectively to clients, carers, and professionals.
* Produce detailed reports summarizing clients' needs and proposed treatment plans.
* Provide accessible verbal and written advice to parents/guardians regarding the care of children.
* Involve clients/parents/teaching staff in planning treatment plans.
* Contribute to legal documents such as Education Health and Care Plans as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate case notes in line with RCSLT professional standards.
* Share information while observing data protection guidelines.
Continuing Professional Development
* Identify personal/professional development through a Personal Development Plan.
* Demonstrate passion and commitment to the profession through self-guided study.
* Participate in individual performance reviews.
* Maintain and develop professional skills and knowledge in SLCN.

Qualifications
* Valid HCPC Registration and RCSLT Membership
* Able to travel independently
