The role will provide senior Employment Relations support, through a coaching style approach, to managers within the organisation and ensure the provision of expert, customer-focused employment relations management advice. This includes offering guidance on human resources policies, case management, and other workforce productivity initiatives. The post holder will provide expert advice and professional supervision to allocated members of the wider team.
The role is expected to work collaboratively with the Network HR Business Partners and Network Senior Management teams to ensure awareness of Network challenges and support effective employee relations. Responsibilities include providing accurate advice and support to managers and staff in the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures, as well as complex areas of employment relations governed by national and legal frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing and maintaining the team key performance indicators and standard operating procedures within the Employee Relations Service.
2. Managing an allocated Employee Relations Advisor and overseeing the professional development of roles within the team to ensure that professional CPD is maintained.
3. Collaborating with other members of the workforce and OD service to develop HR and OD initiatives that create value for the business.
4. Identifying and progressing early interventions to minimize workplace conflict and assessing alternative approaches to resolving disputes.
5. Influencing and driving business thinking to support operational business objectives, organisational design, and resource plans.
6. Supporting the development of a just and learning culture within the organisation.
7. Providing specialist Employment Relations support to investigating officers and managing aspects of employee relations in line with Trust policies.
8. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with staff side representatives and Trade Union officials.
9. Contributing to the development and maintenance of the ER tracker casework management systems.
10. Working in partnership with Workforce and Information Teams to obtain relevant workforce reports and providing analysis and interpretation of reports.
11. Ensuring timely completion of follow-up actions and collating monitoring information for management reports.
12. Playing a key role in supporting the review and development of workforce policies, procedures, tools, training, and quality improvement systems.
