You'll be at the forefront of defending Apple Retail's diverse suite of applications, services, and infrastructure. Your mission will be to ensure the highest security and privacy standards, enabling customers to enjoy a seamless and safe shopping experience, both online and in-store. Description Join Apple’s Retail Engineering Security team as a penetration tester intern and work at the forefront of information security, focusing on innovative ways to protect the private data of millions of Apple customers. This internship is a unique chance to work with Apple’s security experts, who ensure that Retail applications and infrastructure are built securely via offensive security engagements (red teaming), threat modelling, and penetration testing. During your three months you will: Focus a key project: researching and developing solutions that leverage large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to enhance our dynamic penetration testing processes. Your task will be to explore how these technologies can improve testing efficiency, uncover more vulnerabilities, and ultimately bolster Apple’s commitment to privacy and security. Work with experienced penetration testers to learn how they test some of Apple’s most critical applications, and get a chance to pentest these systems yourself Partner with a thriving internal security community, gain experience and develop your skills for a career in cyber security. Minimum Qualifications The ideal candidate should have: • Hands-on programming experience. • Deep passion for security: This could be demonstrated through your involvement in extra-curricular activities such as Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, bug bounty programs, conducting security research, or undertaking software development projects. Any self-initiated security-relevant projects that showcase your dedication and skill will be highly regarded. • Strong communication skills: We value candidates who can articulate complex technical concepts and strategies to a broad audience, including stakeholders from various disciplines. • A solid understanding of core computer science principles and security concepts is fundamental.
