As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you are expected to work in conjunction with the 4 pillars of advanced Practice (Health Education England MultiProfessional Framework 2017) Expert clinical practice Leadership and management, in order to improve and transform services. Research application of existing research and contributing to new research within the chosen speciality. Education and Development of self and others. Your clinical role will include working alongside the medical & ACP team. You will be delivering an advanced level of practice within a specialist field. Your daily job plan includes supporting the medical ward rounds, to independently assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement, manage, and evaluate the clinical care for your patients. Acting as a role model to supporting the junior medical team with practical clinical tasks such as completing bloods, cannulas, prescribing, ordering radiology investigations, discharge HMRs, referrals and patient education. Your role will also be working within the MDT, supporting the patients Enhanced Recovery Pathway and working in combination with the ACP's to develop the role to cover both inpatient and outpatient services ensuring patients receive the highest quality standard of care. You will be required to provide education and clinical supervision to tACPs, nursing and medical surgical teams. Initiating and leading research and service developments to improve patient care. You will be required to support the ACP/ tACP team which could include working within other surgical specialities and covering for a later day shift and at the weekends.
