We are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong carpentry knowledge to join the growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in carpentry, alongside solid surveying skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting for multiple projects, with a focus on carpentry-related works.
Prepare accurate and competitive tenders, cost estimates, and valuations.
Conduct detailed measurements and ensure all materials and resources are accounted for within budget.
Provide expert advice on carpentry aspects of projects, ensuring the efficient use of materials and labour.
Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Identify potential cost savings and areas for value engineering in carpentry and construction processes.
Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure the best possible terms.
Ensure that all financial aspects of projects adhere to the company's standards and regulations.
Regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure quality control and compliance.
Manage and mentor junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support on projects.Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong background in carpentry or woodwork-based projects.
Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and industry standards.
Strong understanding of contract law, cost management, and financial reporting.
Experience with measuring, valuing, and managing carpentry-related projects.
Proficient in using industry-standard software, including MS Excel and QS software tools.
Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (RICS accreditation is advantageous).What We Offer:
