Countryside Manager - Bringsty Summary INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE We're looking for a leader for nature and people, to head up our countryside team of people and places in Herefordshire. A fantastic role covering acres of land with a vibrant variety of habitats including orchards, parkland, farms, SSSIs, SAMS, forestry woodland and roaming countryside across pay for entry and open access land. If you're passionate about improving land management through partnerships for the benefit of nature and people then this is the role for you. What it's like to work here The Herefordshire portfolio is almost county wide and is made up of a variety of countryside at Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, Croft Castle, The Weir Garden and seven open access countryside places comprising of Midsummer Hill, Brienton Springs, Bradnor Hill, Eaton Camp, Brilley, Pengethley and Poors Acre. All of our places benefit from public access and we work with a number of external, governing and statutory stakeholders to deliver improved land management, including commoners, graziers, tenants, statutory and governing bodies and partner organisations who share the same goals for natural heritage. What you'll be doing You'll be part of the Herefordshire leadership team, reporting to the General Manager and a key stakeholder in the land and estate management team, working closely with the Estate Manager to ensure we are doing everything we can for the betterment of nature and people, long term in our outdoor places. You'll lead a countryside team of 6 rangers and volunteers, work closely with a variety of stakeholders and partners at all of our places to support and deliver a long term ambition of restoring nature. This is a fixed term role, covering the postholder who is on secondment until February 2026. It would be a great role for someone looking to extend their countryside management skills across a larger portfolio with a rich variety of habitats.
