Complementary Therapy Practitioner - Acupuncturist

Based at the Trinity Holistic Centre, James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital Northallerton.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced complementary therapist(s) to join the team at the Trinity Holistic Service.
Main duties of the job
The trust has a long track record of using complementary therapies to support people affected by cancer. Over the last 9 years the service has grown rapidly and is now supporting over 2,500 people affected by cancer each year alongside people with other conditions and our increasingly popular private therapy provision which provides a valuable income stream for this charitable service.
This role is an opportunity to join a compassionate, friendly, highly motivated, highly skilled, patient-focused, and fun team and will provide real opportunities to develop your skills within an acute hospital as well as other outreach locations and community settings.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Mindfulness Practitioner with excellent interpersonal skills who strives for excellence in providing the best possible care for our patients and their loved ones. Working well within a multi-disciplined team and a commitment to continuous improvement are absolutely essential.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
* Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Experience of working with volunteers.
Qualifications
* Diploma in a complementary therapy at level 3 or above.
* Member of approved governing body.
* Evidence of continued professional development with a clear focus on cancer care and long-term conditions.
Knowledge
* Understanding of needs of working within a charitable service.
* Good understanding of 'red flag' situations when complementary therapies would not be appropriate.
* Good understanding of side effects of cancer treatments.
* Good understanding of complementary therapies in relation to the needs of patients, carers, and staff.

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 per annum (pro rata)
