Role: Operations Manager Location: Coventry Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Salary: £80,000 OTE £100,000 Benefits: 5% match pension, Profit Share, company car / car allowance, 33 days holiday Operations Manager The role Our client, a leading subcontract sheet metal manufacturer is looking for an experienced Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or General Manager to join their business. As Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Your core duties will include Providing strategic and operational leadership, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Managing a workforce of over 60 employees, including oversight of recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning, and disciplinary procedures. Driving improvements including waste reduction, OEE, quality and profitability Controlling operational budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring all business and profitability targets are consistently achieved. Leading continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality. Overseeing all departmental functions to ensure alignment with company objectives and that performance targets are met or exceeded across the board. Operations Manager The Candidate You must have experience of working as a Senior Manager within a sheet metal / fabrication environment. You will also have the following skills, experiences and attributes You must be able to demonstrate progression from the shop floor A demonstrable track record of driving business growth and delivering sustained profitability, with a strong commitment to customer service excellence. In-depth understanding of management profit and loss accounts, with the ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency. Strong commercial and financial acumen, combined with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers, creating a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
