What you will be doing
As a Nuclear Graduate, you can expect to work in one of the numerous and diverse teams helping to deliver the Dreadnought Programme. In the first weeks, you will be shadowing and gaining an understanding of how your team contributes to delivering one of the most complex engineering projects on the planet. This is a growing capability covering activities ranging from design safety assurance, engineering/technical problem-solving to practical innovation and improvement projects. There is ample opportunity for your professional development and career progression.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the design, build, and test activities on the Naval Reactor Plant across multiple programmes.
* Receive exposure to working with a range of stakeholders across the BAE submarines network along with external stakeholders such as the Ministry of Defence.
* Facilitate programme delivery through innovative engineering solutions.
* Gain knowledge of the nuclear industry and its regulations.
* Carry out Nuclear Safety assessment of submarine design changes and deviations from the submarine design intent.
* Provide technical rationale and sound engineering and design recommendations to Rolls Royce and the MoD to question existing requirements.
Minimum Requirements
As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering / Physical Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry and Physics.
