We offer end-to-end solutions for leading-edge low-power mixed-signal SOCs from feasibility study through to system architecture, digital and analogue design, verification and validation, implementation and layout, embedded software design, ATE test, production, and characterisation.
Based in our Bristol office, this role offers a Senior Engineer position in Digital IP Design working alongside System and IC architects, Verification, Validation, and Software teams. The successful candidate will have a mixture of demonstrable technical leadership skills and hands-on design experience in low power digital IP.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Integration of RTL blocks including DSP, SoC, and peripheral IP.
2. Documentation including micro architecture and programming guides.
3. Ownership of design work from specification through to delivery.
4. Planning and managing own work with predictable outcomes.
5. Cross-functional collaboration with Firmware, Systems, and Verification teams.
6. Running ASIC development tools including Lint, CDC, Synthesis, Power analysis tools.
7. Planning, reporting status, and communicating progress against expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
Required Competencies:
1. Effective communicator and excellent technical presentation skills.
2. Able to work autonomously and demonstrate technical competency.
3. Knowledge of DSP design for Audio or wireless modem technologies.
4. Familiarity with the Arm AMBA/AXI specifications or other bus protocols.
5. Familiarity with peripheral interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART, PWM.
6. Understanding customer use cases and specifying requirements.
7. RTL design in System Verilog and expert digital design knowledge.
8. Expert in debugging design issues reported in simulation or formal verification.
9. System C design and High-Level Synthesis flows.
10. Experienced with RTL and Gate-Level power analysis.
11. Knowledge and experience of defining HW/FW interfaces.
12. Ability to develop tests in a UVM environment and modify infrastructure.
13. Ability to automate and improve processes through scripting in Python or similar.
14. Team working and collaboration.
