Operations Manager - Clitheroe

In this role, you will take the lead in overseeing all aspects of production, continuous improvement, and operational expansion. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping our production and operational culture, focusing on safety, reliability, capacity, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. It’s an opportunity to help develop both our processes and people, while playing a critical role in ensuring compliance with COMAH, EA, and UK standards at our Upper Tier COMAH site.
Working with the production team, and the Site Leadership Team, job responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring Safety and Compliance: Driving continuous improvement in adherence to JM EHS standards, procedures, and Life Saving Policies, ensuring a safe and effective work environment.
2. Optimizing Operational Costs: Overseeing plant operations to meet agreed variable and fixed costs, consistently improving cost control within manufacturing operations.
3. Driving Capacity and Efficiency: Leading accurate capacity planning and production delivery, focusing on enhancing capacity efficiency and supporting growth.
4. Spearheading Infrastructure Improvements: Championing asset and infrastructure upgrades through Capex and Improvement Projects, meeting both current and future business needs.
5. Managing New Product Innovation (NPI): Overseeing the manufacturing of NPI initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and alignment with business objectives.
6. Acting as Deputy Site Manager: Stepping in as the Site Manager’s deputy when needed, supporting leadership and operational continuity.
Key requirements:
1. Educational Background: Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
2. Manufacturing Expertise: Proven experience directing manufacturing operations in specialty chemicals or industrial manufacturing.
3. Global Operations Experience: Strong background in multi-plant operations management within a world-class global environment.
4. Safety Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in a high-hazard environment, with a solid understanding of safety standards.
5. Team Leadership: Ability to inspire, engage, and lead teams, driving change and achieving strategic objectives.
6. Change Management Experience: Proven track record of leading change initiatives successfully.
