Head Hunted Recruitment are working exclusively with a well-known and rapidly expanding business who specialize in the Pet and Animal sector. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Dog Groomer to join the team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to come and join the expanding store in Stowmarket.
We are looking for a dedicated person, someone who wants to evolve and grow this part of the business, one that demonstrates a natural affinity and love for dogs, someone who is naturally kind and caring, who can also pay great attention to detail and who listens well.
As the Dog Groomer, you will take sole responsibility for growing the business and delivering a unique customer experience, as well as being able to work alongside the rest of the team in the store.
The Dog Groomer hours are flexible across 7 days including Saturday and Sunday. This role will be varied and will include all aspects of working within a grooming salon.
Dog Groomer tasks and duties:
1. Trimming for all breed standards
2. Bathing, Drying, Grooming, De-matting
3. Preparing dogs for grooming - brushing and de-matting
4. Nail clipping
5. Ear cleaning
6. Skin treatments
7. Advising customers
8. Booking appointments and targeted on re-books
9. You will ensure excellent salon presentation is maintained and high standards are kept through cleanliness, safety, and good standards of housekeeping.
Dog Groomer retail key responsibilities:
1. Communicate and liaise verbally with customers, suppliers, visitors, enquirers, co-workers, and managers.
2. Efficiently and effectively respond to spoken requests over the phone or in person.
3. Respond clearly and effectively to verbal or written instructions.
4. Stock control and replenishment of goods.
Dog Groomer essential skills:
1. Level 2 qualification in dog grooming, working towards level 3.
2. Excellent communication skills will be fully utilized as you will be dealing with customers and their pets on a daily basis, confidently being able to upgrade and promote the service we offer.
3. We do require someone that can finish all breeds of dogs to a high standard unsupervised.
4. (Due to the nature of the job) good fitness and mobility.
5. Happy and confident to work solo.

We are offering a competitive salary of circa £24.5K per annum, plus excellent company benefits.
We are ideally looking for a full-time employee; however, part-time would be considered with some flexibility around hours and days, but working at least one day of the weekend is a must.
