Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Construction Labourer to join our construction team. The Construction Labourer will assist tradespeople and contractors with essential site tasks, supporting the smooth and safe running of various building projects. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who is comfortable with physical work and has a keen interest in construction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Preparation & Clean-Up: Preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up materials, and ensuring a tidy workspace before and after tasks.
* Assisting Tradespeople: Supporting skilled workers (such as carpenters, bricklayers, and plumbers) by providing tools, materials, and assistance as required.
* Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and moving building materials, equipment, and tools to designated locations on-site.
* Groundwork: Digging trenches, leveling ground, and preparing surfaces for further construction.
* Basic Construction Tasks: Helping with simple tasks such as mixing concrete, filling in foundations, and basic assembly as directed by supervisors.
* Equipment Operation: Operating basic site machinery and equipment such as forklifts or cement mixers (if certified).
* Health & Safety Compliance: Following all Health & Safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment, reporting any hazards or incidents to the site manager.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in construction or as a general labourer is preferred.
* Basic knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety practices.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when needed.
* Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations is beneficial.
* CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card (often required for site access).
Desirable Skills:
* Certifications for specific machinery or tools, such as forklifts or mixers, are advantageous.
* A valid UK driving license is beneficial for travel between sites.
