About the Team Finance Operations is part of the wider group Finance team, responsible for all transactional finance activities, including accounts payable and receivable, cash and bank administration, corporate and procurement cards and the corporate contracts that support colleagues across the whole HM Treasury Group. About the Job In this role, you will: Reconcile HM Treasury group bank accounts, recording daily cash management activities and completing month end close-down activities for the Cash management, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable modules in our financial system. Complete a monthly schedule of reconciliations for the various control accounts, including payroll costs and staff debtor accounts liaising with the Finance, HR & Payroll teams, Oracle system team and our payroll provider to investigate any variances or resolve errors on upload. Process sales invoice requests, banking payments and receipts, recording income and building the weekly BACs payment run batches. Ensure the validity and accuracy of data recorded in our financial systems and that all queries and discrepancies are investigated and resolved. Manage queries received via the teams’ shared mailboxes and Marval, responding in a timely manner and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding customer service to our key partners. Assist with the collation of information required for the completion, submission and publication of cross government returns including monthly critical metric figures Maintain Standard Operating Procedures, process notes and workflows for the Reconciliations team, finding opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensure that appropriate controls and assurances are built in to mitigate the risk of fraud and error. Complete quarterly user acceptance testing for the Oracle ERP system, review and update the Standard Operating procedures relevant to the role, and ensure regular review by the Reconciliations Manager and versioning control. Reporting to the Reconciliations Manager, you will work closely with your colleagues to deliver excellent customer service, use clear and confident communication to manage expectations and demonstrate a positive approach in supporting the team to deliver their objectives. About You Ideally you will have experience in a transactional finance environment, enjoy working as part of a team and feel passionate about customer facing support. You will also approach issues in a positive and methodical manner, making the best use of available resources and considering value for money. Please note, you will need to be Full or part qualified AAT level 3 OR prepared to study to fully qualified.
