What skills and experience we're looking for
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an exceptional person who is suitably qualified and experienced to join the SEN team as an EHCP Co-ordinator. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the SEN department including the new Resourced Provision for students with ASC which opens in September 2025.
In addition to managing the EHCP process within the College you will act as a PA to the Assistant Headteacher SENCO and the Assistant SENCO ensuring effective communication and collaboration with staff, parents, and external stakeholders. The EHCP coordinator will also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the SEN Administrator and the Business and Operations Manager in prioritising a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.
You will need to be a methodical, meticulous and a highly organised individual who possess excellent time management skills and is able to work well under pressure. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a high level of competency in ICT and be a strong communicator with experience of working in an administrative environment with a knowledge of the EHCP process and SEN within a secondary school.
Responsibilities will include:
• Co-ordination of the annual review process for all students with an EHCP
• Liaise with the Business and Operations Manager to ensure all provisions are funded adequately
• Prepare EHCP consultations for the Assistant Headteacher SENCO and Assistant SENCO
• Gather information from staff, outside agencies, parents and other stakeholders to ensure all information is included in the EHCP process
• Play a key part in the transition of students from primary schools when they start at the College
• To provide a comprehensive PA service to the Assistant Headteacher SENCO and Assistant SENCO ensuring they are kept up to date with all matters and prepared for meetings they are required to attend.
