Kellanova is investing £75 million in its cereal plant in Wrexham, aiming to make it the largest cereal manufacturing site in Europe. We are seeking an Associate Packaging Technologist to join our project delivery team for this exciting venture on a fixed-term contract until the end of September 2026.
As one of a team of Packaging Technologists, you will be an integral part of both the Research and Development function and the Cross-Functional Project Team. Your role will involve supporting the commissioning and start-up of new packaging production lines at our Wrexham factory. This includes defining packaging specifications, evaluating proposed equipment, supporting equipment acceptance tests, conducting factory trials, and overseeing the commissioning and qualification of packaging on both new and existing packing lines.
A Taste Of What You’ll Be Doing:
* Packaging Development and Compliance - Responsible for packaging development work, factory support, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
* Plant trials - Supporting plant trials, and the commissioning and testing of new packaging equipment.
* Data Analysis - Analyses data, applies statistical methodologies and ensures testing, overall equipment effectiveness, and approval procedures are followed.
* Reporting - Reports findings, communicates risks, develops solutions, and updates project teams.
* Project Management – Operates within defined project timelines, escalates challenges, and ensures accurate use of the Product Specification system.
* Project Delivery – Delivers project activity on time in full.
We’re Looking for Someone With:
* Previous experience in a Packaging Development or related role.
* An understanding of packing line equipment and packaging standards.
* Knowledge of packaging components and materials used to produce packaging structures in routine and complex projects.
* Familiarity with packaging specifications.
* Experienced in supporting packaging trials to validate potential solutions.
* Ability to review data and apply statistical methodology to reach conclusions and make recommendations.
* Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
