The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £14.09 - £15.14
Temporary until June 2025.
This is a 39-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.
Days and hours of work:
Monday - Thursday, 09:00-11:45
Starting and finishing times are flexible.

Pencaitland Primary School opened on its present site in 1975.
It is located in the heart of the village and is adjacent to Winton Woods which are accessed regularly as part of our outdoor learning which has a high priority in Pencaitland.
The school building is on one level and is semi open plan consisting of 8 classrooms, a GP/Music room, a multipurpose hall with stage, a library, dining hall, a Support for Learning Room and an After School Club.
Our nursery class is staffed by a Senior Early Years Practitioner, 5 part time nursery nurses and an Early Years Playworker.
The present roll is 147 + 32 nursery.
The school is supported by a Head Teacher, Principal Teacher, 10 class teachers, a PE teacher and a music teacher.
The Parent Council and PTA take an active role in supporting the life and work of the school.
The role is to support young people in school.

To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.
Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups are required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
