This post has become available due to the recent relocation of the previous post holder.
We are looking for a highly motivated Band 5 SLT to join our team at Ealing Hospital.
You will join a highly supportive and innovative Speech & Language Therapy Department, with an excellent support and supervision programme for professional development. In addition to formal supervision and regular mentoring, we provide regular cross-site support groups and in-service training opportunities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic therapist who is keen to take up a post as soon as possible. Some pre or postgraduate dysphagia experience or training is desirable.
Main duties of the job
This is a split post covering the following clinical environments:
* Acute Wards at Ealing Hospital (6 sessions), including Care of the Elderly; Gastroenterology; Respiratory; Endocrinology; Cardiology; Infectious Diseases; Surgery; Orthopaedics & Critical care. The post holder will also be expected to see progressive Neurological patients and those repatriated from major trauma centres following acute neurological events and spinal cord injuries.
Voice Outpatient clinics at Ealing Hospital (4 sessions): We have excellent links with our ENT colleagues and you will liaise with them regularly to provide patients with high quality care.

Education/ Qualifications
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
* Health Care Professions Council – Licence to Practice
* Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience of working with adults
* Assessment treatment and management of clients with speech, language and communication difficulties relevant to the neurological / acute/ voice client group
* Delivering a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the above client group
* Working with carers & MDT
* Writing clinical notes and reports
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
* Excellent written and spoken English with good presentation skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening and empathy skills, and negotiation and problem solving skills
