We are partnered with a manufacturing organisation in Walsall who are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join them on a permanent basis. The Purchasing Manager is a leadership position, responsible for all procurement activity, operation of the purchasing functions and strategy. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and a background in manufacturing.

Job Description
1. Responsible for overseeing and managing the purchasing strategy and operations
2. Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers and internal departments to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services
3. Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
4. Establish a system to qualify and evaluate vendors
5. Implement agile supply chain practices
6. Improve the contract review and planning process
7. Manage a team of Buyers and Administrators, improve skills and performance and coach to support growth and development.
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
1. In depth experience working in a Purchasing Manager role or similar
2. Previously worked within the manufacturing industry
3. Strong leadership skills
