Central is currently recruiting for a Project Worker, to work in the Ilford area. The service provides supported housing accommodation to clients with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday – Sunday on a rota basis covering early (8AM – 4PM) and late (2PM – 10PM) shifts. Temporary cover is required until the end of March 2025. The pay rate for this role is £14.49 per hour, with £1.75 holiday pay, totalling £16.24 per hour.
In this position, you will be expected to;
* Hold a caseload of key clients and carry out key working responsibilities
* Complete comprehensive needs and risk assessments, risk management and support plans
* Ensure the building is free of any slips and trips meeting Health and Safety requirements
* Ensure new clients are made to feel comfortable and are given information concerning the hostel and other local services.
* Carry out weekly/daily flat inspections for the residents at the service
* Interview and comprehensively assess referrals to the project to ensure the criteria is met and suitable
* Support clients to identify opportunities for move-on to appropriate PRS, Hostel, shared or self-contained accommodation and make appropriate referrals.
* Work with clients to identify activities that they would like to take part in, to prepare them for independence and move through
* Run activities or small groups in response to identified client need or as part of a project / borough wide programme of group work
* Ensure that safeguarding and addressing the immediate needs of clients are paramount to service delivery
* Complete incident reports and raise to hostel manager
To apply for this role candidates must have;
* Experience of working with complex needs and homelessness in a hostel environment
* Experience holding a caseload, completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments and creating Support Plans
* A strong understanding of the issues that typically disrupt progress in journeys towards independence, such as mental health, substance misuse, self-harm, anger management, learning impairment and frailty due to illness
* A good understanding of the Strengths and Recovery model, and the ability to engage, support and motivate clients to progress within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE)
* The ability to work intensively with clients, respond calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively and safely to complex and challenging situations
* IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office programmes and database recording systems

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
