About Us
North Somerset Council is a forward-thinking organisation committed to promoting independence for those living in North Somerset as well as modernising our services to be able to meet our future demands. We are proudly ranked #1 in the South-West for social work health by the Local Government Association for four consecutive years.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered Social Workers to work within the North Somerset Single Point of Access (SPA) Team. Various hours are currently available up to full time.
The SPA service provides a fast-paced response to adult social care referrals at the first point of contact. The team is recognised as critical in the delivery of effective, time sensitive interventions to the residents of North Somerset. Our excited approach to intervention via telephone triage and assessment in addition to community-based assessment clinics offers an exciting, varied and challenging working environment for practitioners wishing to develop their strengths based and proportionate approach to intervention.
Working largely remotely, the role supports a great work life balance for staff. There are regular opportunities to engage with colleagues, attending face to face meetings and supporting Community Based assessment clinics. We are currently developing our strengths based, proportionate approach to assessment alongside Occupational Therapy colleagues, to actively enable choice and independence for residents.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
